Robert Lee Samuels Sr. of Dayton, OH passed away Feb. 18th at 4:30am at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Dayton, OH on Dec. 8th, 1945. He was preceded in death by his mother Lora Belle Smith and Father Odie Raines; sister, Brenda.
He is survived by his wife Judy A. Samuels of 48 yrs; brother Danny Hatton; son Robert L. Samuels Jr; daughter Tammy S. Samuels and friend Chester Johnson; two grandchildren, Chelsea and Joshua; three great grandchildren, Mariah, Matthew, and Allison; very best friend RoseMary Gibson; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Robert graduated from Stivers High School. He was employed at Dayton Manufacturing for 25 years as a welder.
He loved collecting model cars. He loved playing poker and taking everyone's money, playing board games with his friends and hanging out at the 5th Street Grill.
Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged following his tours. He was a member of V. F. W. of Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel. Bob's family will greet friends from 9-11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment at Dayton Memorial Park, 8135 N. Dixie Drive, Dayton, OH with full military honors.
