Robert Murlin, Jr.

Robert Murlin, Jr., of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on February 12, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio.

Robert lived a life marked by dedication to his family, steady service, and simple joys well shared with others. He served in the U.S. Army, and later built a long working career that reflected his strong commitment and work ethic. He retired from NCR after many years of service, and then retired again from CareSource following his work at NCR. He also took college courses at Sinclair Community College, continuing to invest in his own growth and learning.

Beyond his work, Robert found happiness in the pastimes he loved most. He enjoyed playing golf and treasured time spent playing cards with family and friends, moments that brought laughter, companionship, and lasting memories to those around him.

Above all, Robert will be remembered as a devoted family man. He shared 59 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Janice (Reinhard) Murlin. Together they built a family that was central to his life. He is survived by Janice; by their children, Christopher Murlin, Dawn (Daniel) Gearhart, and Terry (Caitlin) Murlin; by his grandsons, Ryan Dixon and Dylan Dixon; by his great-grandson, Nash Whittaker-Dixon; and by his siblings, Veronica (Daniel) Liette and Mark (Judy) Murlin; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Murlin, Sr.; his mother, Rita (Fullenkamp) Murlin; and his infant son, Gregory David Murlin. Their memories remained part of his life and story.

A visitation will take place from 10:00AM to 11:00AM with a Mass to follow at 11:00AM on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in memory of Robert. 

Robert Murlin, Jr. will be remembered with love, gratitude, and respect for the life he lived and the family he cherished.
