Robert Maloney

Robert Maloney, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 8th, 2026 wth his wife and dogs by his side, with complications from diabetes and kidney disease. He was born on October 13, 1951 in Germany, but raised in Springfield, Ohio where he attended parochial schools. He was a veteran, having served in the US Air Force where he received an honorable discharge.

Bob enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially college basketball and was an avid tennis player for many years having received numerous awards and trophies. He retired from WPAFB and thrived in staying busy by volunteering at MVH for over 15 years where he accumulated over 3000 hours and had his name placed on the wall of fame. He also enjoyed gardening and yard work and kept his yard looking well maintained at all times. Bob enjoyed his hobby of scrapping in his later years, where he met many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Martha Maloney. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Carla. He leaves siblings Tim Maloney of Springfield, Darren Maloney of Columbus and Mollie Heisterkamp of Sandpoint Idaho. Also left to cherish his memory are his daughter Kalie Gray, stepdaughter Jennifer Price, along with grandkids Alexis, Alex, Austin and especially Madelyn whom he was so proud of for her ambition and accomplishments, and of course his beloved dogs Tillie and PeeWee.

Per Bob's request, he will be cremated and there will be no public service at this time, and a private celebration of his life with close friends and family will be at a later date this summer. In lieu of flowers or any donations if desired may be made to the Humane Society as Bob loved animals, especially dogs.
