Robert Lee Frazier, a man whose life was defined by courage, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to family and community, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on June 9, 1943, in LaGrange, Georgia, Robert lived a life rich with purpose and marked by distinguished service and profound wisdom.

A proud and honorable veteran, Robert served his country with valor as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. His military career was highlighted by his service in the Vietnam War, including his time with the special forces. His military achievements were among the proudest accomplishments of his life, a testament to his bravery and resilience. Additionally, Robert remained an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and was a commander at the American Legion, embodying a lifelong commitment to supporting his fellow servicemen and veterans.

After his service, Robert dedicated his professional career to working as a lineman for Dayton Power & Light (DP&L), from which he retired with distinction. Always driven to better himself and overcome obstacles, he embraced life's challenges with a spirit of perseverance and determination.

In his younger years, Robert was adventurous, eager to explore life to its fullest. As he grew older, his wisdom deepened, and he became a source of guidance and strength to those around him. His participation in the Million Man March remains a proud emblem of his dedication to his family and the broader community, reflecting his belief in justice, unity, and progress.

Robert's family was his cornerstone. He is survived by his daughter, Ronnette Harris; his sons, Oscar Ellis (and wife Judy) and Tony Frazier; his beloved sister, Nellie Watson; and his granddaughter, Audreanna Roberts. He also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews—Michael, Tracie, Sherrie, and Robert—as well as many other beloved relatives and dear friends who treasured his presence and wisdom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellease and Robert Frazier; sister, Denise Frazier; brother, Hosea Frazier; son-in-law, Claude Harris, Jr.; brother-in-law, Lewis Watson; and niece, Keina.

The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Robert’s life will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the same location, military honors will be held at the end of the service.

Burial will take place at at Dayton National Cemetery (date and time TBD). 

Robert Lee Frazier’s legacy is one of honor, resilience, and heartfelt dedication. He faced life’s trials with courage, embraced its opportunities with enthusiasm, and enriched the lives of all who knew him. His memory will remain a guiding light to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing this remarkable man. May he rest in peace.
