Robert "Bill" Katzenbach, born on January 17, 1953, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and connection. Bill was a deeply caring individual who cherished his family and the moments spent with them. He had a remarkable ability to engage with everyone he met—always ready for a conversation, whether it was to share a laugh or to lend a listening ear.

A proud veteran, Bill served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was honored to be a part of the Vietnam War. His love for his country was evident in everything he did, reflecting a commitment that shaped his values and character.

Beyond his dedication to family and service, Bill found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, often found riding his beloved Harley. Fishing also held a special place in his heart, serving as another way to connect with nature and unwind.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Tammy Katzenbach, whose partnership brought profound joy to his life. He leaves behind his two children, Billy Katzenbach and Brian Katzenbach, along with his treasured grandchildren: Austin O'Quinn, Jason Katzenbach, Casey Katzenbach, and Clarissa Katzenbach. He is also remembered by his sisters, Carol & Douglas Zarecky and Wilma Hall, and a special nephew, David Katzenbach. Bill's connections extended to his bonus brothers, John Gard and Charles Hatmaker, and his road Dog, Wesley Garrison; and many more nieces, nephews, family, and friends, all of whom will hold his memory dear.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Katzenbach, and his brother, Richard Katzenbach. Bill’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, as they carry forward his legacy of kindness, camaraderie, and love.

Per Bill's wishes, services will not be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's honor may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
