Robert Mason Hazlett, "Bob," age 75 of Washington Twp., passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Respiratory and Nursing Center of Dayton. He was born November 2, 1949 in Huntington, West Virginia.
Bob graduated from West Carrollton High School Class of 1968, where he made lifelong friends. He is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country in the Vietnam War. He then served in the Marine Corps Reserves and the Army Reserves, where he became an officer in 1979. Bob was a police officer in various capacities for the Federal Government, and then transitioned to computer work as a specialist. He retired from DASC in 2007. Bob was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Mary; grandson, Luke Hazlett; brother, William "Bill" (Carol) Hazlett; sisters-in-law, June (Harold) Viers and Elizabeth "Beth" (John) Gauker; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Marsha) Jackson, David (Robin) Jackson, and Neil Storer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Hazlett; father, William Hazlett; son, John Hazlett; and sisters-in-law, Diana (Terry) Keener and Jean Storer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, OH 45459). Funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery, with military honors.
