Robert S. Fields "Bob", age 82 of Riverside, passed away September 23, 2017. He was born August 9, 1935 in Mason County, KY to the late John R. Fields and Della (Little) Rogers. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his step-father, Earl Nick Rogers; brother, Walter Fields and nephew, Ronald Fields.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Fields; children, Robin Adams, Sharon Johnson, Sandra (Larry) Ellis and Robert S. (Rhonda) Fields; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, Cathy (Miles) Johnson and Marsha (Bill) Osman; nephew, Earl Ricky Fields and numerous extended family and friends.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Murray #576 and was past commander of AMVETS Post 24 in Dayton.
Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM. Interment with military honors will be at Trissel Cemetery, New Lebanon, OH.
