Robert Frederick Walker, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born on February 17, 1933, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, and lived a life dedicated to public service. Bob enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a city manager, culminating in his retirement from the City of Kettering, where he made lasting contributions to the community he cherished.

A proud veteran, Bob served in the Navy, where he honed his leadership skills and developed a deep sense of commitment to serving his fellow citizens. His dedication did not end with his military service, as he continued to make a significant impact in public service throughout his career.

In his personal pursuits, Bob found joy in bird hunting, a hobby that allowed him to connect with nature and cherish the great outdoors. His love for wildlife and the serenity of the environment was a reflection of his spirit, which resonated with those around him.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Rebecca, whose partnership was a source of strength and comfort throughout their years together. He leaves behind a son, Steven Walker, and a daughter, Ellen (Dan) McGrath, who will remember him not only as their father but also as a guiding light in their lives. Bob was a proud grandfather to Grant Walker, Kelsey Walker, Gina (Cory) Carter, and a great-grandfather to Noah Carter, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life.

His extended family includes Sarah (Tom) Nicholson, Rachel Muscato, Megan Muscato, Wesley Nicholson, Lauren Nicholson, Leah Napier, Kyle Napier, and Ridge Napier, reflecting the loving network of family that surrounded him. Bob cherished these relationships deeply, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Walker, who was a significant part of his early life and memories.

Bob's warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his family and community will be profoundly missed. His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire those who had the honor of knowing him.

A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
