Robert Norman Elsner, Jr. was born November 21, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Robert N. Elsner and Elsie (Middlestetter) Elsner.
Bob served in the United States Navy during World War II and then worked as a Buyer at General Motors Delco Moraine facility for 36 years. Bob married Dorothy L. Keener on February 18, 1948. Earlier this year the couple celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Bob entered into life eternal on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. There are five generations that survive Bob, beginning with his wife, Dorothy, and the couple's three children - Carolyn LeForce (Kenny), Laura Hawkins (Rick), and Stephen Elsner (Mary). The Elsners have five grandchildren - Amber Loveland (Andy), Chris Hawkins (Amy) Ashley Oda (Scott), Erin Reynolds (Mike) and Abby Elsner. There are 10 great-grandchildren -Dustin Cushman, Paige Tortorelli, Riley Oda, Carsen Oda, Nolan Oda, Adelyn Hawkins, Ryder Zink, Bennett Reynolds, Natalie Reynolds and Journee Zink, as well as two great- great grandchildren - Scarlett Cushman and Haidyn Tortorelli.
The visitation for Bob Elsner is scheduled for Friday, August 31 at Zion Lutheran Church (Mullen Hall) from 5-7 p.m. One hour of visitation will also precede the Saturday service on September 1. Visitation is at 10:00 with the service beginning at 11:00. Burial is at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Following the committal service, a lunch will follow at Zion.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
