Robert S. Danley

Robert S. Danley, age 67, of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away July 30, 2026. He was born June 2, 1959 in Dayton to the late Robert L. and Joan E. Danley. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. This is not the first time that Bob passed away. He had a quadruple bypass heart attack, died on the table and the medical staff brought him back. Bob said that he did not recognize anyone when he made his way up to Heaven. This time he's sure to recognize his brother, Richard "Rick" Danley, who passed away just last month on June 28, 2026.

Bob proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force. He served the 1st Cavalry Division in Fort Hood, Texas as a UHI helicopter crew chief and helicopter mechanic; served in Fort Belvore flying politicians and high ranking military; served Camp Zama Aviation Detachment, Japan as a crew chief flying Generals and other high ranking military. Served a small stint with the Army. He also served in the Navy as A6 Naval plane mechanic as an U.S. Navy A6 twin-jet, all-weather carrier attack aircraft (often described as a medium attack bomber) with VQ 185 squadron at U.S. Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington and the squadron then transferred to Atsugi Naval Air Station Japan serving on the USS Midway in the Gulf War and then transferred to Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment (AIMD) also at Atsugi Naval Air Facility, Japan to support Navy aircraft operating in the Western Pacific.

After returning home from the service, Bob worked at the Dayton Airport for American and Continental Airlines. He then decided to serve the Air Force Intelligence Agency before finally retiring from the military after many years of service.

Bob was a life member of the Kettering VFW Post # 9927. He loved music, especially Van Halen and Yes. He enjoyed watching western and Sci-Fi movies and doing board games; baseball and football ones were his favorites. Bob was a collector of model airplanes and was a huge Star Trek fan.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Katy Danley; grandchildren: Garry and Asher; sister, Julie; brother, Mark; nieces and nephews: Linda (Ben), Kelly (Josh), Steven and Kyle; many other family members and friends.
