Robert (Bob) Dale Smith, age 92 of Tipp City passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born January 25, 1934, to Guy and Lula (Secrist) Smith in Newark, Ohio. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bob lived his life with a steadfast Christian faith that guided his every step.
Bob and his beloved wife, Joy Elizabeth (Wamack) Smith, shared seventy-one years of love, dedication, and family. Together they raised seven children, whom he cherished deeply. He is survived by his sister Carol Wiggle of Zanesville, and his daughters Tamara Smith, Keeley (Kenneth) Bristow, and Billi Jo Lemaster. He was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Lula, his wife Joy Elizabeth (Wamack) Smith, his sibling Richard (Dick) Smith and grandson Joseph Riddlebarger. He also held particularly close the memories of his four children who preceded him in death, Debra Fries, Terri Johnson, Robert Smith II, and Pamela Denney.
A proud and loving grandfather, Bob leaves behind almost seventy-five grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and filled his heart with laughter, warmth and purpose.
Bob’s faith was the foundation of his life. He loved going to church, teaching the Word of God, singing, praying, reading the bible, and sharing fellowship with friends who became extended family. Bob took great pride in his accomplishments of a master carpenter, serving in the United States Navy, and his long career at Ore Felt Foundry.
Robert Dale Smith will be remembered for his quiet but enjoyable humor, his strength in the Lord, and the love he gave so freely to people around him. His legacy of faith and family will live on in all who had the blessing of knowing him.
