Robert "Bobby" Hackett

Robert E. “Bobby” Hackett, aged 82, left us on August 2, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio, embodying a life that was vibrant and unforgettable. Bobby defined what it meant to truly live, never letting a day pass without making the most of it. His magnetic personality ensured that anyone fortunate enough to meet him would remember him forever. Whether sharing stories, bringing laughter, or imparting wisdom, Bobby left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.

He lived a life of diverse passions and professions. From retiring at General Motors, working as a bodyguard, and engaging in real estate, to promoting boxing, Bobby's enthusiasm and adventurous spirit shone through. On the water, fishing and boating, he found his greatest peace.

Above all, Bobby was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest pride was his family, and his love for them was unwavering.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Erma and Thomas Eugene Hackett.

Bobby’s legacy of love, laughter, resilience, and unforgettable stories lives on through his daughter, Wendy (Rick) Shephard; his grandson, Blake (Angie) Shephard; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Emma, who brought him endless joy.

Though Bobby will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved him will forever remember a man who embraced every opportunity, lived on his own terms, and reminded everyone around him that life is meant to be lived to the fullest.

In accordance with Bobby’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
