Robert "Bob" Williams

Robert "Bob" C. Williams, age 74 of Dayton, Ohio passed away on March 18, 2026. He was born December 16, 1951 in Charleston, West Virginia. Son of the late John and Mae Williams.

Some people move through the world quietly, gently, and with warmth so steady that you only realize its power when you feel the space they leave behind; this was Robert.

Robert lived his life with his heart wide open to those around him, without ever expecting anything in return. His presence made days brighter, our burdens lighter, and life for others a little softer.

He truly enjoyed his plants; he loved checking on his gardens, his veggies, and his fruits and would show them off to the world if he could. He's always been a very hard worker. He went to work even if he was sick or short of breath.

He's leaving behind his wife, and only they will ever truly know the special love/bond they created and shared. Mostly the laughter they shared together.

There are men whose love becomes the foundation of the family, steady, warm, and endlessly generous. He was one of those rare souls. He carried a tenderness that could calm storms and a strength that made others around him feel protected.

But, of all the roles he held in his beautiful life, being "Papaw" was the one he cherished the most. He was a hero wrapped in gentleness, the one who always had time for one more Nerf gun fight, one more safari hunt on his hands and knees, and always had time for one more hug, one more kiss, and one more story. He made his grandchildren's childhood magical in such a way.

He will truly be missed. He turned ordinary days into adventures, and he turned tears into smiles and laughter. We are all forever grateful for all he brought to us in our lives. He will forever be loved and thought of until the end of time.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother; brother-in-law, Tom Supleta.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Char Collett; children, Tabitha Franklin, Rebecca (Ben) Hough, Ashley (Nathan) Daniels, and Jessica Collett (Zack); grandchildren, Mikael, Kody, Madison, Allison, Daniel, Lilliann, Everett, Kylee, and Felicity; siblings, John Williams and Kellie Supleta; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 3-4pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 4pm also at the funeral home.
