Listen to Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert B. Brown Jr., lovingly known as Bob, a beacon of warmth and love, who departed this world on January 18, 2026, at the age of 64, surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 11, 1961, Bob spent his life touching the hearts of those around him with his incredible spirit and boundless kindness.

Bob was a devoted husband, partner, and friend, who found his best friend in his wife, Nova Lynn Taulbee Brown, who preceded him in death. Together, they shared a beautiful journey spanning over three decades, filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. Through Nova’s illness, Bob stood faithfully by her side, caring for her with unwavering devotion until her passing, a testament to the depth of his love and commitment.

A devoted father, Bob found great pride and joy in his children, Stephanie Brown (Stephen Rickman Jr.), Stacey Brown, and Chad Brown. He lovingly shared parenthood with Vanessa Zugg (John Zugg), and together they raised children who were the center of his world. Bob was always present with support, encouragement, and guidance.

One of Bob’s greatest joys was being a grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, McKenzie Rickman, Madison Rickman, Stephen Rickman III, Joel Brown, and Ivy Brown, and his great grandson, Jah’Zelle Rickman.

Bob’s generous and genuine heart extended far beyond his immediate family. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Frasier (Kerry) and Dorothy Althouse (Jeff), each of whom carries a piece of his light within them. In addition to his sisters, Bob also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends who became family over the years, including his work family at Dot’s Market, who were a meaningful part of his life.

Though Bob has joined his beloved wife, Nova, and his parents, Robert B. Brown Sr. and Helen Brown, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Bob Brown was a treasure who brought joy, humor, love, and kindness to everyone he touched, and he will be deeply missed. His zest for life was on full display through his love of music, card parties, and golf outings. Known for his quiet strength, warmth, and humor, Bob was a wonderful storyteller who could hold a room with ease, sharing stories that sparked laughter, reflection, and a deep sense of connection.

Bob never let life’s hardships define him. He faced adversity with humility, remaining positive, kind, and resilient, and emerged from every challenge with even greater compassion. His faith in God carried him through every trial, giving him peace, strength, and grace.

As we remember Bob, let us celebrate his enduring legacy of love and compassion, knowing that his influence will continue to shape our lives and bring us together in fond remembrance. Rest in peace, dear Bob, your love will forever be with us.
