Ricky L. Jones

Ricky Lee Jones, age 65 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, September 2nd , 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born July 3rd, 1960, in Parkersburg, West Virginia; the son of Frances Finney and the late John Jones. Ricky was a Kiser High School graduate and dedicated ABF Freight dock worker for 28 years. Ricky was a real outdoorsman and loved almost any outdoor activity such as hunting, fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting, and he especially enjoyed arrowhead hunting. Ricky was a friend to the animals, especially to his many dogs throughout his life. He was also a very creative person and loved woodworking and making things with his hands like Jewelry. Ricky was a connoisseur of Bloody Mary’s and Cheladas! He loved music, especially Country and Classic Rock and he was an avid concert goer. Rock On!

Ricky was a bright light. He will be deeply missed by all.

Ricky is survived by his Wife, Tina Jones; Son, Ricky L. (Wanda) Jones II; Daughter, Nikki L. Frazier; Step-Daughters, Darlene M. Frazier (James Cates), and Ashley J. Baumgardner; Step-Son, Rodney T. (Sarah) Kingery II; Grandsons, Billy O. Frazier, and Elijah L. Jones; Granddaughters, Jasmine L. Frazier, Jenesis M. (Alex) Pagan, Tristany M. Frazier, Marissa R. Pace, and Madison E. Baumgardner; Brothers, John Owen (Donna) Jones Jr., and Jerry Jones; Sisters, Vicky Strong, and Sherry Jones; Father-In-law, Anthony Bystrek; and by numerous other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his Father, John Owen Jones, Sr., Step-Father, Rick Finney, Son-In-law, Danny R. Frazier, and Mother-In-Law, Elsie "Doody" Bystrek.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at Whiskey Remembers on September 20th, 2025 at 4:00 pm located at 7230 Dayton Germantown Pike, Germantown, Ohio 45327.
