Rickey Bryant, a beacon of kindness and light, passed away on May 28, 2026, in Fairborn, Ohio. Born on August 2, 1960, in Lafayette, Georgia, Rickey’s journey through life was marked by a generosity of spirit and an unwavering devotion to his faith that touched countless souls around him.
Rickey was known far and wide for his generous heart, his caring nature, and his quick wit—qualities that made him beloved in every circle he entered. He truly did not know a stranger, greeting everyone he met with warmth and a genuine smile. His laughter could fill a room, and his stories often left those around him chuckling and uplifted.
His life was deeply rooted in his devotion to Christ. For 18 years, Rickey was a cherished member of Living Word Church in Vandalia, where he taught Sunday school and offered ministry to many. His compassion led him to frequent hospitals and nursing homes, providing comfort and companionship to those in need, embodying his belief in service and love.
Rickey is survived by his brothers, Ron Bryant (Laverna) and Jacob Middlesworth; his sister, Sue Mercer (Greg); and his beloved niece, Amber Perez. He also leaves behind a loving circle of great-nieces and great-nephews—Selena, Justin, Harley, and Meilani—along with many other family members and friends who were uplifted by his generosity and spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and James Middlesworth, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on June 2, 2026. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rickey's days were a testament to a life well-lived—anchored in faith, radiating love, and marked by the joy he brought to others. His memory will forever linger in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him, a gentle reminder of the power of kindness and the enduring strength of a generous soul.
