Rickey L. Adkins

Rickey L. Adkins, age 64, of Dayton, passed away March 1, 2024. He was born July 17, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Vinson Adkins and Betty Bowling Adkins. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Adkins; and sister, Brenda Spencer.

Rick is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Theresa Adkins; son, Christopher Adkins; sisters: Helen "Susie" Matheny (Guy) and Patricia Bush; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends: Jesse and Gail.

Rick worked for Ahlstrom and Karolton Papermills and was a member of the Paperworker's International Union Local 781 for 18 years. He was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Bengals and Ohio State. He loved boxing, listening to oldies music, as well as Elvis Presley, who was his favorite. Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held. Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. Contributions may be made in Rick's memory to either St. Jude Children's Hospital for Cancer Research or to any animal organization of your choice.
