Richard Masao Shichida

Richard Masao Shichida, age 40 of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 21, 2025. He was born March 3, 1985, in Fort Hood, Texas.

Richard a beloved son, cousin, nephew, and friend, loved computers, video games and hanging out with his loved ones. He was the most gentle soul with the biggest heart. “No” was never in his vocabulary and his answers were always “I’m down.” He loved this family dearly and was the best son that there ever was. He was the quiet soul in the corner that was always observing, always curious. Everything you said was “interesting”. Richard is a believer. If he believed in something it was 100% no matter what others may say. We will miss his contagious laugh. Even when we see his pictures now, we can hear him and we laugh with him.

Richard is survived by his mom, Kimberly Shichida; and his many family members, and especially his cousins, brothers, and sisters.

He is preceded in death by his father, Nelson Masao Shichida, and now joins him in Heaven.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
