Richard "Rick" A. Danley

Richard A. Danley, "Rick", age 63 of Huber Heights, passed away Sunday, June 28, at Miami Valley Hospital.

He was a 1981 graduate of Wayne High School, and worked for Builders First Source in Vandalia, Ohio.

Rick loved sports, played baseball and was an exceptional pitcher, also football, soccer and golf. He enjoyed playing poker with his friends and organizing Fantasy Football teams. He loved music, especially Rush and Styx. As a military brat, Rick spent the early 70's living in Tokyo, Japan, embracing the culture and all the amazing entertainment available for children. He was friendly to everyone, made many friends, and loved animals, especially cats.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Joan E. (Shea) Danley, infant niece, Laura, and grandparents Richard and Evelyn Shea, and Hazel Danley.

Rick is survived by his brothers, Robert and Mark, sister Julie, nieces and nephews, Linda (Ben), Kelly (Josh), Steven, Kyle, Katy, and Olivia (Zach). Grandnieces Caitlin (Raphael), Abigail, and Faith, and Great Grand nieces and nephews Valentina, Charlie, Brooks, and Jet.

Family will greet friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home North, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 10:30am also at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
