Richard Lee Minnish, age 79, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Pristine of Beavercreek. He was born May 12, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Clarence and Margaret Minnish.
He proudly served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Navy. Richard retired from the Navy after 22 years of service. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Clark, son, Steven Minnish; brother, Robert Minnish and wife, Judith (Garman).
Richard is survived by his loving wife Ruth; son, Richard L Minnish Jr.; two daughters, Tamra Minnish and Debra (Steven) Jaynes; step-daughter, Tracy (James) Cornett; step-son, Bubby; two sisters, Barbara Walton and Susan (Leonard) Morrella and son-in-law, Donald Clark. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the funeral at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Richards's urn will be placed in a niche at Dayton National Cemetery on a later date.
