Richard Vernon Kuhns was born on December 5, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio and passed away on June 1, 2025 at Carlisle Manor.
He was a proud graduate of Miamisburg High School and later retired from Dayton Power & Light after more than 35 years. Richard was also an Entrepreneur and owned RK Lead Recycling where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and resilience.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, William Vernon Kuhns, mother, Beryl Verena Kuhns; brother, Gary Kuhns; his devoted wife, Ruth Ann Kuhns and step-son, Richard Brumfield. These relationships deeply influenced his character and the values he passed down to his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassie (Walt) Major; step-children, Lee Ann Belshe, Toni Wilson and Joseph (Heather) Krieger; three grandchildren, Michael (Jordan) Major, Kristin (Kyle) Crosthwaite, and Eric Major; seven great-grandchildren, Sabella, Korbin, Vera, Cooper, Sylvia, Colton, and Avery; three brothers, Donald, Ronald, and James (Jackie) Kuhns along with numerous other family members and friends who will fondly remember him. Richard’s life was enriched by the connections he forged throughout the years, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Richard enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan. He loved to drive and took great joy in his lead business. Richard was also a proud American and loved to display the American Flag. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit and memory will continue to resonate within the hearts of his loved ones and the community he cherished.
