Richard J. Brewer, born on October 15, 1954, was a beloved figure whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. He left this world on June 13, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy filled with warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family.
A dedicated professional, Richard devoted his entire career to Retail Management until he faced disability in 2008. Throughout his working life, he exemplified the values of hard work and dedication, earning the respect of his colleagues and community.
Richard was known for his jovial personality, a genuine jokester who had a knack for making others smile with his infamous "Dad Jokes." His sense of humor was matched only by his passion for the Miami Dolphins; his love for the Miami Dolphins was unparalleled. Richard did not just support the team—he embodied their spirit, celebrating every triumph and enduring every setback with unwavering loyalty.
At home, he held the titles of loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Sue Brewer, who stood by his side through life's many joys and challenges. His legacy continues with his daughter, Debra Harrison, residing in Kettering, and his treasured grandsons, Dustin Harrison (Rachel) of Columbus and Joshua Harrison of Huber Heights. The joy of his life was further enriched by the arrival of his great-grandson, Issac Cardenas, who brought light and love into his later years.
Richard is also survived by his brothers, Leonard Brewer (Mary) of Kentucky and Alex Brewer of Greenville, alongside his nephews, Richard Brewer and son, Ian Brewer, and Chadwick Brewer (Kami) and son, Colton, all of Kentucky. Together, they cherished the memories made alongside Richard—memories rooted in laughter, familial bonds, and shared experiences.
Preceding Richard in death were his parents, Fred and Yolanda Brewer, and his beloved daughter, Kimberly Harrison, who left a void in his heart that echoed throughout the years.
Richard's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and resilience. He will be remembered fondly by family and friends alike, his spirit lingering in the stories shared and the smiles evoked by his memories. As we bid farewell to Richard, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with kindness, laughter, and an unyielding love for those he held dear. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his cherished family.
