Richard Alan Heyne "Rick", age 72 of Butler Township, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026 after a brief illness at Stonespring of Vandalia. He was born on December 17, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Harry and Janet Heyne.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Heyne; mother, Janet Heyne; and son, Kris Heyne.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Brenda Heyne; son, Kyle (Courtney) Heyne; grandchildren, Emma, Clarissa, and Rowan; brother, Tom (Teresa) Heyne. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He graduated from Carroll High School. Rick received his Associates Degree from Sinclair Community College and his Bachelor's Degree from The Ohio State University. He retired from Montgomery County after 32 years of service. Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was an avid sports fan especially the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed taking summer trips to Manitoulin Island in Canada since he was very young, lake Cumberland, and St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. Rick is well loved and will be deeply missed.
