Richard E. Worthey Jr. "Rick"

Rick was born in Greensboro, NC on January 10, 1956 to Richard Worthey Sr. and Peggie McTier. He passed unexpectedly on July 23, 2026 at his home in Greensboro, NC.

At a young age, his family moved to the Dayton, OH area. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1974. While at Jefferson, Rick distinguished himself by leading the football team to three undefeated seasons. The team went on to win 49 straight games (A State of Ohio record at the time).

Shortly after graduating high school, Rick returned to Greensboro and made it his home. He attended North Carolina A&T State University prior to working in several capacities in private industry. He settled on working for a company that specialized in the development of chemical fragrances for female cosmetics. While Rick was fairly reserved with others, he could get fired up when the subject turned to sports. He loved his Steelers!

Rick leaves to cherish his memory his father, Richard Sr.; special friend, Falissa Wyatt; BFF, Dean Brown; as well as other relatives and friends.

Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Newcomer - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424). Memorial Service will be officiated at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Newcomer - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424).
