Richard "Dick" G. Dunlevy, age 78 of Huber Heights, Ohio formerly of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 17, 2026. He was born November 25, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio. The son of the late Richard A. Dunlevy and Isabelle Tipton (Dalrymple).
Dick was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a 1966 class graduate from Stivers High School. Dick retired after 30 plus years of employment with General Motors.
Dick was a track championship race car driver, winning many races in the Tri-State area who retired in 2013. He started his career in 1968 as a second generation driver. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Kilkare, Shady Bowl, Dayton Motor Speedways, as well as DARF Hall of Fame. He had an appreciation for classic cars, going to car shows, and riding motorcycles.
He was an avid sports player, playing several sports throughout his life. He was a member of the Huber Heights YMCA Silver Sneakers for 14 years.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Dunlevy and Mike Bell; and granddaughter, Brittany Ward.
He is survived by is wife, Sandra "Sandy" Beckett; children, Richard P. Dunlevy (Michelle Vanburen), Melissa Dunlevy, and Ryan Dunlevy (Kim Ballard); grandchildren, Ashley (Mike) Schweitzer- Miller, Andrew Schweitzer, Jamie Dunlevy, Patricia Dunlevy, and Brennen Dunlevy; great grandchildren, Addison, Aadyn, Alexis, Asher, Kian, and Destiny; sister, Jeanie Albert (Kleinman); as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
