Richard A. "Rick" Williams, age 62, of Dayton, Ohio was born to Orbin and Helen Williams on October 3, 1961. He was the baby of the family and the apple of his mom's eye. Rick was called home on May 31, 2024 and was received into the loving arms of his parents and his in-laws, James and Julia Cleary. He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Debbie and Phyllis; brother, David; brothers-in-law: John and Jimbo; and niece, Lesa.
Rick's memory and loving spirit will live on in the love of his life, Dee; his children: Jennifer (Chris), Sarah (Dennis) and Bradley; his grand-boys: Deuce, Teddy and Jackson; special aunt, Maryanne, who was like a second mom; brother, Steve (Debbie); sister-in-law, Julia; special niece and nephew: Lacy (Rob) and Ethan; Goddaughter, Jessi (Don), and her mother, Tina, and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rick had an exceptional work ethic starting work as a teenager at Pastime Lanes as a lane setter. After the death of his mother in 1980, Rick packed his bags and headed to California, where he started his family. While there, he also began his career in the trucking industry. In the early 90's, Rick and Dee packed up their family and headed back to Ohio. He continued his work as a dispatcher and was hired by Bullet Trucking which became his home away from home. Les, Walt and Pam were more than his bosses, they were his dear friends.
Rick's children were his pride and joy and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them. He was the fun uncle who always had a rotation of nieces and nephews on the weekends doing fun activities. Just when you thought his heart couldn't grow anymore, his grandsons were born and Rick made it his mission to be an amazing G-dad. His love and dad-humor will be missed by all whose lives he has touched.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where a memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm.
