Rena Mae Cox, age 70, of Miamisburg, passed away peacefully, and with the love of Jesus in her heart, on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born July 12, 1955, the daughter of the late Leo and Viola Burggraf of Franklin, Ohio.
Rena retired from Xylem in Yellow Springs, where she worked in production assembly. She had previously worked at Pioneer and at Christmas Tree Shoppes by the Dayton Mall. She loved to go thrifting and crafting, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a big heart and an even bigger smile!
Rena is survived by her husband, Richard Cox, Sr.; sons, Bradley Johnson and Brian (Tracey) Johnson; daughter, Rebecca Johnson; stepsons, Richard Cox, Jr., and Gary Cox; stepdaughter, Heather Kane. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren – Tyler, Caleb, and Trey Capo; Calianne, Baylee, and Campbell Johnson; and Quentin (Venus) and Austin Conley. Several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren survive. Rena leaves behind brothers Ed (Eileen) Johnson and Russell Burggraf, and sister Patricia Fawcett. Many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, current, and former in-laws mourn her passing. Mom had many friends from past jobs and from church. Among those are Edna and Cliff Smith and family, Pete and Martha Martinek and family, Nila Hannahan, Judy Garland, and Pam Hought. Thank you for making Mom’s life brighter!
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Sonny (Leo) and Rodney Burggraf, and by special nieces Terri, Brandie, and Jennie Burggraf, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mom was also preceded in death by lifelong friend Diane Worrell.
"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:2-3
Blessed assurance, Rena Mae is in her mansion now!
