Regina Lynn Shumard Arnold White, age 63, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2026 at her home surrounded by her beloved animals.
Services for Regina will be held on Tuesday, April 28th from 3-5pm at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
Regina was born in Dayton, Ohio, May 11th, 1962, which often coincides with Mother’s Day. She attended Northridge Public Schools from Kindergarten to Senior year. Mostly a stay-at-home mom that dabbled in teaching with Headstart in the early 2000’s. Although she loved working with the littlest of our community, her true passion was working with animals.
Regina was always tending to and caring for animals of all species. She’s rescued opossums, racoons, mice, rats, squirrels, cats, dogs, groundhogs, skunks, pretty much any animal that would let her near it. She was always wanting to take care of any animal that came her way, even if she already had her hands full.
Regina was preceded in death by her mom, Elizabeth, her dads, Richard (adopted dad) and Frank (bio dad), her sister, Christine, numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, including her favorite cousin whom she referred to as her niece, Bailey.
She is survived in death by her husband, Everett, her brother, Allan, her children, Jessica Becker, Lindsay Sands, Jonathan White, and Caleb White, and her five grandchildren, Deacon, Lilith, Desmond, Nathan, and Everleigh.
Regina left a lasting touch on everyone she met. She could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and about anything. She was very outspoken about how much she loved her kids and grandkids. She is so loved and will be missed by all that knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to your favorite animal rescue since Regina loved rescuing animals.
