Rebecca Jean Young, born on July 17, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, and departed this world on August 10, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. She leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories. She was a loving daughter of the late Rev. Glen E. and Donna Jean Howard and a devoted wife who embraced the joys and challenges of life with her trademark warmth and strength.
A graduate of Xenia High School, Class of 1972, Rebecca was proud of her roots and made significant contributions throughout her professional life. For many years, she worked in the medical field, where she touched countless lives, most recently serving as the Activities Director for a nursing home. Her genuine care for others was evident in everything she did, and her dedication to her work mirrored her commitment to her family.
Rebecca's life was filled with hobbies that brought her immense joy. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, creating moments that will be treasured for generations. Whether it was shopping, enjoying the sunshine at the pool, or cooking up delicious meals for her loved ones, her spirit radiated happiness.
Family was central to Rebecca’s life. She is survived by her beloved husband, Rickey Young, her children, Rachel and Randy, and her many loving grandchildren, who will carry her memory with them forever. Brothers, Daniel "Mick" (Lynnelle) Howard and Rick (Sharon) Howard also mourn her passing, remembering her as the hardworking sister who always put family first.
Through her laughter and her love, Rebecca Jean Young brightened the lives of those around her. She was the proud owner of her dog, Daisy, who undoubtedly brought her comfort and companionship as she navigated the journey of life.
Though she is reunited with her late son, Robbie Lee, and her parents, she leaves behind a profound legacy of love, devotion, and resilience. Rebecca will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends, who continue to honor her memory through acts of kindness and love, just as she would have wished.
A Celebration of Rebecca's Life will be held at the convenience of her family at a later date.

"When I come to the end of the
road and the sun has set for
me, I want no rites in a gloom
filled room. Why cry for a soul
set free. Miss me a little-but not
too long. And not with your
head bowed low. Remember the
love that we once shared.
Miss me-but let me go. For this
is a journey that we all must
take and each must go alone. It's
all a part of the Master's plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of
heart, go to the friends we have
known and bury your sorrows
in doing good deeds.
Miss me-but let me go."
