Ray Edward "Ed" Andrew, age 66 of Huber Heights, passed away October 15, 2018 after a 13 year battle with Parkinson's and Dementia. Ed was a huge Bengals fan and held season tickets for the last 16 years. He also enjoyed soccer and was an all around sports fan; and even ordered Mel Kiper, Jr.'s draft book every year so that he could keep track of who the Bengals were going to pick.
Ed was born November 7, 1951 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray; and his beloved Da and Po.
Ed leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Jan, whom he adored; his special sons, "dudes" Evan (Liz) and Jordy (Jes); grandchildren: "the prodigal", Owen, Bengal partner, Noah and his beloved sweet little granddaughter, Kinley; mother, Caroldean; brother, Speed; mother-in-law, Adeline; and brother-in-law, Ed of Florida.
Ed attended Miami University in Oxford, and Thunderbird University in Arizona for his graduate work. He was an avid reader of history; enjoyed an in depth conversation; loved old classic movies; traveling, especially with Jan to Asia. Ed loved the study of Japan and China culture. More than anything, Ed loved his family; he was very kind and soft spoken, except when he was yelling at the Bengals on t.v.
Ed's family would like to thank their friends at the Hospice of the Miami Valley during his illness. You are each very special and gifted in what you do. A special thank you to Dr. Kirk Smith for going above and beyond and for your expertise and kindness.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:30 - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:00 pm.
