Ralph E. Cain Jr.

August 19, 1949 — July 16, 2025

Beavercreek

Ralph E. Cain Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Beavercreek, Ohio, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on August 19, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, Ralph was celebrated for his gentle spirit, quiet demeanor, and selfless nature. He was a devoted family man who found joy in every moment spent with his loved ones, particularly his grandchildren.

A graduate of Graham High School in St. Paris, Ohio, Ralph furthered his education by earning an Associate's Degree in Marketing from Sinclair College. His passion for creativity and technology led him to a fulfilling career as a Software Engineer, affectionately dubbed the "Computer Genius" at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Ralph's talents and tenacity in his field were admirable, but even more significant was the love and guidance he provided to his family.

Ralph's heart belonged to his family; he shared 49 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Milissa. Together they nurtured a loving household, raising their two sons, Chris (Berit) Cain and Stephen (Jenna) Cain, imparting values that will continue to resonate through generations. Ralph took immense pride in being a grandfather, delighting in the company of his grandchildren: Johanna, Henrik, Elle, and Reece. Their laughter and love lit up his world, and he often reflected on his proudest accomplishments being centered around them.

Ralph brought warmth and joy into the lives of those around him. He readily shared his time with others, whether through coaching baseball and softball, volunteering for Greene County Parks and Rec, or simply enjoying life's simple pleasures like gardening, cycling, and reading. He had a love for travel and adventure, and his enthusiasm for life was infectious, inspiring those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

His children will fondly remember bedtime routines where Ralph read to them from the Hardy Boys Books, their imaginations whisked away in the tales spun from those pages. His gentle scruffy face was a source of comfort during those cherished moments, as he would rub it against the kids, wrapping them in love.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife Milissa, sons Chris (Berit) and Stephen (Jenna), and grandchildren Johanna, Henrik, Elle, and Reece. He is also survived by his siblings Kathy (Chuck) Powell, Sue (John) Zerkle, Nancy Bateson, Dave Cain, and Tammy (Warren) Manson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry his spirit with them always.

He is reunited in spirit with his parents, Ralph Sr. and Jeanette Cain, whose legacy of love and dedication to family continue to influence those who knew him.
