Rachelle Cantrell, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 65. Born on October 3, 1960, in Norton, Virginia, Rachelle was a vibrant and loving individual, known for her spicy personality and fierce devotion to her family.
Throughout her life, Rachelle found joy in caring for people, particularly her family, with whom she shared a special bond. She was a devoted mother to her children, Josh (Melissa) Cantrell and Camillia (Pete) Cantrell, and took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren: Cahliel Osama, Bryant Johnson, Myles Cantrell, Landon Cantrell, Mekhi Cantrell, Cameron (Rebecca) Cantrell, and Isaiah Kinney. Her legacy will continue through her great-grandchildren, Haven, Kehlani, Cleo, and another one on the way.
Rachelle was known for her love of scary movies and her genuine affection for animals, often spending her time grooming dogs and providing them with the care they deserved. She cherished quality moments spent with her family, especially as she cared for her father, Cam Cantrell, who is still with us.
As a proud member of the Cantrell family, Rachelle is survived by her father, siblings Rick (Kim) Cantrell, Gary Cantrell, and Donna Gates, along with her niece, Jamie, and many nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember her warmth and affection.
Rachelle’s spirit was reflected in her proudest accomplishments, which included her striking long nails and her love for jewelry. She embodied a sense of style that was uniquely her own, and her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Rachelle was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Cantrell, and her brother-in-law, Toby Gates. As we honor her memory, we celebrate her life, which was dedicated to love, laughter, and kinship. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories that will forever be cherished.
