Rachael Rockwell-Harvey, born on April 6, 1995, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2025, in Marysville, Ohio-though she called Dayton home. She was a cherished individual who touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family, friends, and colleagues.
Rachael earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ohio University before furthering her education with a Master’s degree in Education and Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from the University of Dayton. She dedicated her career to making a difference in the lives of thousands of students as a School Psychologist at the Clark County Educational Service Center. Known for her intelligence and feisty personality, Rachael was a friendship magnet. When she met you, not only was she your friend but your friends were then her friends too. Her wit and fluency in sarcasm brought joy to every conversation, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Rachael had an array of hobbies and interests that reflected her vibrant spirit. She served as the Wright State University Ice Hockey Team Nanny for multiple years. An artist at heart, Rachael loved music, especially K-pop, and was often found engrossed in trivia or books. Her passions extended to football and ice hockey, making her a well-rounded individual with diverse interests.
Rachael's favorite holiday was Halloween, and she fondly remembered the day her husband, Andrew, proposed to her in 2020. Her battle with cancer showcased her incredible strength and determination, earning her the title of a Warrior in the fight for her health.
Rachael is survived by her beloved husband, Andrew Harvey, whom she shared two and a half wonderful years of marriage with; her parents, Shari Rockwell, Mark Bowen, and Larry Rockwell; her siblings, C. Tate Bowen, Kayleigh Bowen, and Jarod Bowen; and her in-laws, John Harvey and Rachel Harvey. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Alex Hickey, and her beloved feline, Harold O'marion Harvey. Rachael leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
The family will receive friends on Sunday June 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. A funeral service will be held Monday on June 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Rachael will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City Ohio. The visitation, funeral, and graveside service are open for everyone to attend.
