Phillip Michael Lewis-Pittman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Phillip Michael Lewis-Pittman. Born on July 8, 1992, in Dayton, Ohio. Phillip brought with him a light and a spirit uniquely his own, he was a firework. Phillip brought honor, enlightenment, and kindness to those he encountered. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Phillip knew he was far from ordinary. His personality was wonderfully different-intriguing, unforgettable, and full of life. His smile stretched wide, and his laugh carried so far you could hear it from down the street.

Phillip lived with passion and curiosity. On his best days, he loved spending time with family, watching movies-especially every Star Wars film-and enjoying the outdoors. If he wasn’t at home gaming, he could be found fishing at a nearby pond, content with the world around him. Animals were naturally drawn to him; whether raccoons, squirrels, or stray cats, Phillip welcomed them all with gentle kindness. He cared deeply about the world and often shared thoughtful opinions about real-world issues. Always thinking ahead, he imagined every possible future and took comfort in being prepared. He wanted a better world-not only for himself, but for everyone he loved.

Phillip’s heart was larger than life. He was funny, compassionate, dedicated to his hobbies, and endlessly kind to strangers. He wanted to better himself, to show the world what he was capable of, and he sought faith and healing with sincere intention. Phillip leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet heroism. He touched lives in ways he never fully realized. His family will ensure that his name, his face, and his story continue to be shared and remembered. He will be missed forever, loved beyond measure, and carried in the hearts of all who knew him. Phillip would want to be remembered for his love of fishing, his passion for gaming, his devotion to family, and his desire to lift up everyone he met. Bubba, we love you more than words can express. You are our guardian angel now, and we are forever grateful for the time we had with you.

Phillip's memory will be carried by his mother, Virginia K. Lewis; his father, Donald E. Pittman Jr.; his siblings: Savanna Alder (Rudy Ruiz), Whitney Lewis-Pittman (Jason Barton), Dominique Pittman, and Donald E. Pittman III aka Trey; his grandmother, Iva Pittman; his aunts and uncles: Kimme Lewis, Mary Abrahamson (Todd), Bill Lewis, Wendy Pittman and Terrance Pittman; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Phillip was preceded in death by his aunt Debbie Lewis; his grandparents and great-grandparents, Donald E. Pittman Sr., Lillian Anderson-Montgomery, George Pittman, Norman J. Grierson (Gerald P. Grierson), and Willian H. Lewis.

Family and friends are welcome to gather from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, Ohio. A Memorial Service for Phillip will start at 7:00pm.
