Philip H. McAlmond Jr.

September 15, 1950 — April 19, 2025

Centerville

Philip Hugh McAlmond Jr., age 74, went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio.

Born in El Paso, Texas, in 1950, Philip dedicated his life to serving Christ and others. After serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, he felt a deeper calling. For decades, Philip served faithfully as a pastor, focusing on bringing health and healing to the church. He ministered to countless lives with a servant’s heart, a deep love for Scripture, and a message rooted in God’s grace and truth.

Whether from the pulpit, on a construction site or over a cup of coffee, Philip poured himself into sharing the hope of Christ. His life was a living testimony of the gospel he preached, marked by humility, strength, and an unwavering faith.

His family was his pride and joy. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lee; his children Braidie (Scott), Dana (Chris), and Brian (Sara); and his ten beloved grandchildren: Preston, Kiley, Conner, Cameron, Aiden, Josh, Elijah, Evan, Cora, and Megan.

He is also survived by his mother, Shirley; his sisters, Tina and Glenna; and his brothers, Anon and Russ.

Philip lived by the words of Acts 20:24 (ESV):

"But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."
