Peter Wilhelm Schilling

Peter Schilling passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, sister, Brigitta Riedesel and wife Marlene of 56 years. Peter, is survived by 2 sons, Lars (Lisa) Schilling and Christian (Heather) Schilling, 9 grandchildren: Seth (Brittany) Schilling, Brent (Anna) Schilling, Justice Schilling, Monika (Matt) Wright, Summer Schilling, Clay (Gillian) Schilling, River Schilling, Sophia Chambliss, Chloe McInturff, 5 great grandchildren, Solomon Schilling, Rylan Wright ,Grace Schilling, Esther Schilling, Claire Wright and 2 special nieces Iris Riedesel (Malte) and Ira Kaulfuss (Stefan).

Peter was born on May 24, 1943, to Wilhelm and Irma Schilling in Altena, Germany. At 12 years old, his family immigrated to South Africa. He returned to Germany for trade school when he was 15 and then back to South Africa where he married and started a family. Peter worked as a plastic blow molding machine technician. In 1978, his job brought him and his family to the US where they lived in New Jersey, Michigan, Virginia and most recently Ohio.

He received Christ as his Savior while in New Jersey. While in Ohio we could hear him reading daily devotionals out loud with his wife Marlene.

As a young man Peter enjoyed playing tennis and spoke fondly of driving in his Volkswagen Beetle. He enjoyed traveling, golf, watching soccer and his German television. In his retirement years, he treated our family to vacations in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. He and his wife Marlene will be laid to rest in the ocean at Myrtle Beach, SC.
