Peggy Ann Zeigler, born on December 28, 1959, in the bustling borough of Brooklyn, New York, exited this world on December 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with threads of kindness, compassion, and artistry. A devoted home health aide for many years, Peggy's calling was clear; she dedicated her life to caring for others, finding purpose in the smiles of her elderly patients, who became an integral part of her heart.

Her spirit resonated with warmth; she never knew a stranger and approached everyone she met with an open heart and a ready smile. Friends and family alike will fondly remember Peggy as a vivacious presence, her laughter like jazz music dancing through the air. She was fun to be around and was adored not only for her kindness but also for her creative talents. An artist at heart, she embraced her creative side through crafts, soap-making, and drawing, bringing joy and beauty into the lives of those fortunate enough to witness her artistic endeavors. In her leisure, she found tranquility in the simple pleasures of feeding the squirrels and birds that visited her.

Peggy's vibrant personality was a blend of vivacity and grace; she was a joy to be with—always smiling, bubbly, and exuding kindness. While her culinary skills brought her family together around the dinner table—she cooked with love, ensuring that each meal was a shared experience filled with connection.

Peggy's educational journey began at Thomas Jefferson High School, where she graduated in 1977, before continuing to pursue her interests at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. Her dedication to learning mirrored the unwavering commitment she showed in her personal and professional life, continually putting others before herself. Her proudest accomplishments were the lives she touched, serving as a relentless caregiver, nurturing those around her with unparalleled devotion.

Though Peggy’s departure was sudden, the love she exuded will forever linger in the hearts of her family and friends. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Monique (Torea Cokes) Williams and Sophia (Dean Martens) Williams, who carry forward her legacy of care. Her grandchildren, Michael Babe Dixon, Jr., Nysiah Williams, Messiah Williams, and Anson Martens will cherish the memories of their grandmother’s nurturing spirit. Peggy is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Zeigler, Esther Cheathem, Tawanna Cheathem, and Tanja "Tammy" Holman; her brothers, Cornel (Cheryl) Zeigler, Gary Cheathem, and Kelvin Brooks; her step-mother, Joan Zeigler; her beloved aunt, Betty Ravizee; special friend, Linda Stewart; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Babe Zeigler and Rose Cheathem-McLamb, as well as her sisters Freddie Mae Cheathem and Beatrice Cheathem, and brothers James Zeigler, Larry Cheathem, Jerry Cheathem, and Michael Cheathem. Peggy also shared a remarkable bond with her companion, a shih tzu named Chee-chee, who graced her life with affection.

As friends and family gather to celebrate Peggy's life, her vibrant spirit and selfless heart will be deeply missed and forever cherished. The visitation will be held on December 28, 2025, from 12:00PM to 1:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio, followed by a funeral service at 1:00PM where her legacy of love and kindness will be honored. Although she has departed from our sight, she will remain in our hearts, an everlasting emblem of compassion and joy.
