Paul A. Lucus

Paul A. Lucus, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on September 9, 2026, at Stoney Ridge Senior Living, at the age of 79. He was born on March 7, 1947, in Dayton, and remained closely connected to the community throughout his life.

Paul worked at Delco Products for many years until his retirement. Outside of work, he enjoyed woodworking, a pastime that reflected both patience and care. He was also part of the Polish club for many years, maintaining a lasting connection to a community that was meaningful to him.

A very religious man, Paul was deeply devoted to his faith. He attended St. Adalbert Polish Catholic Church and was devoted to the church, which remained an important part of his life.

He is survived by his second cousins: Christopher (Lisa) Nace, Mike (Sarah) Roush, John (Crystal) Roush, David (Susan) Roush, and second cousin and goddaughter, PJ; and numerous extended family members and friends. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, John and Vera (Bucenski) Lucus; cousins, Betty (Dick) Nace and Mary Ann (Jack) Roush; second cousins, Kevin (Debbie) Roush and Jean (Jim) Mills; including other family.

Visitation will be held on September 19, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424. The funeral service will begin there at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409.

Paul A. Lucus will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his years of work, and the quiet dedication he brought to the people and communities that were important to him.

February's Resident Spotlight
This month's resident spotlight is on Paul Lucus. Paul was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio as an only child with his parents and his grandmother. His grandmother spoke four languages, and his father was an interpreter for the American Army in Germany. Paul attended Saint Adalbert's grade school followed by Chaminade High School.

Paul's first job was in lawn care, mowing lawns in the summer and snow blowing in the winters. He later worked at Delco Products for 34 years as a job setter, where he had an assembly line with 17 people making shock absorbers for General Motors and Chrysler. He was also a chairman for St. Adalbert's Church festivals and helped organize and set up events for about 20 years.

Paul loved going to the Polish Club on Fridays and playing Pinochle with his friends. He also enjoyed going to Eastwood Lake on his boat and travelling: he took a ferry from Florida to Texas and visited Coney Island about twenty times! He is a talented wood-worker and made grandfather clocks in his free time.

Paul is a great storyteller, loves classic movies, and spending time with his friends. We are so happy to have him in the Stoney Ridge family!
