Paul Eugene Cox, age 81, of Beavercreek, passed away on August 13, 2025. Paul was born on October 5, 1943, in Sandborn, Indiana, to Frank and Helen Cox. He grew up in Plainville and later enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country.
While stationed overseas in England, Paul met his wife and life-long companion, Irene Talbott. The two returned to the United States, married, and began a family, raising two wonderful sons, Mike and Steven Cox.
After leaving the Air Force, Paul earned a degree in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant. He went on to work for the Air Force as a civil servant for more than 30 years, demonstrating the same dedication and integrity he showed throughout his military service.
Paul will be remembered for his quick wit, generosity, commitment to coaching his children’s youth teams, and strong work ethic. He loved playing tennis, riding his bicycle thousands of miles each year, and spending time outdoors. Above all, he cherished time with his grandchildren, often speaking proudly of them to family, friends and, yes, even strangers.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Talbott Cox; his children, Mike (Denise) Cox and Steven (Kelley) Cox; and his grandchildren, Kathryn (Marcin) Morys, Jennifer Landry, Joseph Cox, Parker Cox, and Gabrielle Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Cox.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and everyone who took part in caring for Paul during his final days.
Services will be held privately with the family. Inurnment will be held at Dayton National Cemetery with Military Honors.
