Paul David Ault, a kind and generous spirit, passed away on July 1, 2025, in Tipp City, Ohio, at the age of 85. Born on June 3, 1940, in Kenton, Ohio, Paul led a life characterized by his unwavering dedication to family and community.

An esteemed member of the U.S. Army National Guard, Paul served his country with honor, instilling in him a profound sense of duty and generosity that marked his life. He was known for his helpful nature and quiet philanthropic efforts, always seeking to lend a hand to those in need.

Paul's passions were varied and vibrant. He had an extraordinary sense of direction and loved to drive, affectionately noted for never getting lost. His adventurous spirit was evident in his love for travel, especially when it involved witnessing barbershop quartets perform—a cherished pastime. A sports enthusiast at heart, Paul held a special place for University of Dayton basketball and The Ohio University Buckeyes football, passionately supporting his teams.

Family was the cornerstone of Paul's life. He was a devoted husband to Alma F. Ault, sharing a remarkable bond that lasted 62 years. Together, they nurtured three children: Daniel (Liana) Ault, Alan (Tammy) Ault, and Audrey (Kirk) Shaffer. Paul's pride and joy extended to his grandchildren—Brogan (Alexander) Collyear, Rylee (Trevor) Salmon, Alec Shaffer, David Ault, Rachel Ault, Jacob Ault, and Natalie Ault—as well as his great-grandchildren, Ashton, Ryland, and Hadleigh. Watching his grandkids grow up brought him immense happiness and fulfillment.

In addition to his family, Paul is survived by his sister, Ardythe Hatchett, who shared fond memories and a deep familial bond with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Ault and Emma “Rachel” Ault, who laid the foundation for the loving family values he upheld throughout his life.

Paul's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a faithful member of Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church, where he attended services every Sunday, exemplifying his devotion not just to family but to his faith as well. His legacy of kindness, support, and love will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched.
