In Loving Memory of Paul Denzil Ashworth

Paul Denzel Ashworth passed away on September 14th, 2026 at the age of 92.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Denny, as he was known by all who loved him, was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Beverly Ashworth, and his parents, Hazel Kiser and Bill Kiser.

He is survived by his son, DJ Ashworth (Brigid Ashworth); his daughter, Cindy Frounfelker (Tom Frounfelker); his son, James Ashworth (Diane Ashworth); his ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with number 17 on the way. 

Denny was a hardworking man and a bit of a risk taker. After a career with Monarch Marking in Dayton, he began a box manufacturing company with one machine in a rented basement. The company expanded and operated for over forty years before being sold in 2010.

The real joy of Denny’s life was his family and motorsports. After building and racing dragsters with friends, he and his wife, Bev took their children trail riding on mini bikes and racing in motocross. He loved to tinker with his street rods, often taking them to car shows around the country. Once the kids were grown, they started racing sprint cars nationally and found another family within the racing community. He was pleased to reach the age of 92, his beloved car number for over 20 years.

Denny shared an abundant life with Bev, their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family, and left a legacy of love, generosity, and quick-witted humor to all who knew him.  He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on September 25, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek at 9:30am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest next to Bev at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
