Patrick Knickrehm, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, was called home on October 29th, 2025. Pat was born on January 3rd, 1957, in Davenport, IA to Ralph and Loretta Knickrehm. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia K. Knickrehm.
Pat is survived by his three children, Leah (Dan) Quinn of Round Rock, TX, Ben Knickrehm of Centerville, OH and Brett Knickrehm of Longmont, CO; four grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, Noah and Abigail Quinn; brothers Craig (Kathy) Knickrehm and Doug (Laurie) Knickrehm; sisters Teresa (Mike)Stewart, Carole (Kevin) Schmidt, Marianne Davidson, Kathy (Bob) Hines, Anne (Philip) Gray-LeCoz and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was a lover of life, always so positive, encouraging and thoughtful. He was innovative, inquisitive, and fearless; willing to try new things and take risks. As a young boy he tried out almost all the musical instruments he could bring home, he fished, golfed, ice skated, and played every sport, football, baseball, hockey, basketball, wrestling, track, golf. After graduating from Assumption High School, he received a scholarship to play football at Augustana University in South Dakota, where he pursued a degree in Aviation Management & Operations. This is where he met his leading lady, the love of his life, Cindy. Pat and Cindy’s enduring commitment to each other and their family through life's challenges stands as a testament to the strength of their relationship, guided by their faith and trust in God.
Pat put his family first and consistently demonstrated love for his family and extended family and friends through both actions and words. He was always present for his kids, through coaching their teams, driving them to countless practices, officiating meets and filling their lives with hope and optimism while instructing them how to adapt through all life’s challenges. He would do whatever it took to be at every possible holiday, wedding, birthday, funeral, no matter the distance.
There will never be another Pat, but his legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren and their children.
