Patricia Ann Freeman Mattison, also known as Pat age 70 of Dayton, OH, departed this life on Friday, November 1, 2024. Pat was born in Hogansville, Georgia but lived most of her life in Dayton. Pat graduated from Colonel White High School and attended Sinclair Community College where she took medical courses. She brought steadfast dedication and heartfelt compassion to her career in healthcare and later owned her home daycare business. Pat provided excellent care, nurturing and educating many children with individualized attention and learning opportunities for each child.
Her journey was a testament to hard work, kindness, and a passion for helping others, leaving a lasting impact on her family, friends, and community. Pat joined and was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church as a young child and later became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Her unwavering faith and belief in God were significant in her life as she battled illnesses and other life challenges. She lived life to the fullest!
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Racine Phillips Motley and Richard Motley and daughter Rolanda Mattison-Pruitt.
She is survived by her son Dylon Mattison, Atlanta, GA., life-long partner Louis Thompson, father of her children Randall Mattison, son-in-law Walter L Pruitt, Dayton, OH., brother, Alfred Jenkins, Atlanta, GA., bonus-son Kenny Thompson, bonus daughter, Leslie Thompson, bonus granddaughter Shaylyn Thompson all of Dayton, Aunt Gwendolyn (Jaynard) Clinkscales Dayton, OH; Uncles Rickey (Sherry) Phillips and Walter (Freida) Phillips all of Atlanta, GA. Special cousins Dianna Forman, Debra Yancey, Monica George-Smith, Stephanie George, Trina Wynn, Tawana Phillips. Special friends Robin Barnhill, Marion Jones, Anikka Masey, Mary McDonald and Carolyn Watson. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 am service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Ave., Dayton, OH. Dr. Marcettes L. Cunningham, Pastor with Rev. Alex George, Eulogist. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Final resting place will be at West Memorial Garden.
