Patricia "Patti" Carol Cox

Patricia “Patti” Cox, maiden: DeLong, passed away on October 18, 2026, in Beavercreek, Ohio. She was born on July 31, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, and will be remembered as a caring, loving, and kind woman whose life was centered on the people she loved most.

Patti found happiness in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She enjoyed golfing and bowling with her husband, John Cox, and loved being outdoors. Above all, she was deeply family focused. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and the love she had for them was at the heart of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cox; her son, John Cox Jr.; her father, Delbert DeLong; her mother, Sylvia DeLong; her sister, Mary “Meanie” DeLong; and her brother, Delbert “Ike” DeLong Jr.

Patti’s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Amy Miller; her daughter-in-law: Lori Cox;  her sister, Diana Ransdell; and her nieces, Angie Ransdell and Abbie. She also leaves behind a beloved and growing family in her grandchildren Sarah Jones and her husband Matt, Krysten Smith and her husband Don, Michael Cox, Christopher Miller, and Matthew Miller, along with her great-grandchildren Tyler, Maddie, Avyn, Avery, Lily, Kyleigh, and Parker. To each of them, she gave the steady gifts of love, warmth, and devotion, and her presence will remain a lasting part of their lives.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will also be held on October 26, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton. Burial at Poplar Hill Cemetery, 1340 South Dixie Drive, Vandalia, Ohio 45377.

Patti will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and the joy she found in sharing life with those closest to her. Her legacy lives on in the family she treasured so deeply.
