Patsy Ruth Pittman, age 78 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born February 23, 1940 in Weeksbury, Kentucky, daughter of the late Wilford and Marie (Music) Wells.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob Pittman; daughter, Lisa R. (Mark) Staten; sons, Timothy Q. (Laura) Pittman and Shawn L. Pittman; daughter-in-law, Lisa Pittman; brother, Jerry D. (Malynne) Wells; sister, Betty Jo (Ray) Goforth; grandchildren, Claire (Brycen) Cross, Lucas (Alison) Staten, Logan (Shannon) Staten, Jared (Chelsea) Pittman, Caleb Pittman, Carter Pittman and Ruthie Pittman; great grandchildren, Andrew, Albie and two on the way, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Pat was a 1958 graduate of Van High School in Van, WV. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob Pittman, December 21, 1959. Pat and Bob began their family after his service in the armed forces. They moved to the Dayton area in the early 1960's. Pat was a preschool teacher at Joyland for 14 years. She has been a member of the Church of Christ for most of her life; attending the Centerville congregation for the past 15 years. She spent a great deal of time contributing to their activities as a volunteer, having served with the Ladies Card Ministry, as a chaperone for Youth Mission trips and as a mentor for young ladies. Pat loved to cook and care for her family. The gatherings of children and loved ones were always precious to her.
Family would like to thank Dr. Ketan Shah and the wonderful staff at the Dayton Cancer Center for their dedication and care over the past 7 years. They also thank the staff of Hospice of Dayton for their care and kindness.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, July 16, 2018 at Centerville Church of Christ. A funeral ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2018 also at the church and officiated by Ministers Todd Parsley and JD Cash. Procession to Heritage Hills Memory Gardens, Springboro will follow for burial.
