Pastor Oscare. Blair

Pastor Oscar E. Blair, age 70, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

Oscar was born in Waco, Texas on April 30, 1953.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jean Conyers; sisters, Shirley Ann Knighton and Gail Robin Knighton; and brother, Clarence Eugene Knighton.

Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gwen Blair; daughter, Michele Blair; son, Oscar (Shaundra) Blair Jr. "OJ"; grandchildren, Oscar Earl Blair III "Tripp" and Oliver Elijah Blair "Ollie"; brothers, Frank Blair and Ozell Knighton Jr.; sisters, Ella (David) Baker and Patricia (Colin) Brown; sisters-in-law, Mae Crandell, Margaret Patti, Janette Walls, and Toresa Walls; brothers-in-law, John Walls Jr., Moses Walls, Edward Walls, and Joe Walls; longtime friend, Reverend Ralph (Stephanie) Gordon; and many other relatives and friends.

Oscar proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired in 1993 as Chief Master Sergeant. He was the President, Founder and CEO of Priority Building Services in Fairborn, Ohio. Oscar served as the Pastor at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio. He was a loving husband, caring brother, doting father and grandfather, supportive uncle, and a compassionate friend. Oscar will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 10:30-11:30am at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 11:30am with Reverend Ralph Gordon officiating. Oscar will be laid to rest with full military honors at Dayton National Cemetery at 2pm.
