Pamela K. Rice

June 8, 1950 — July 30, 2025

Pamela K. Rice, 75, of Bellbrook, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with her husband, Larry, by her side. She faced a brief but debilitating illness with grace and courage.

Pam was born on June 8, 1950, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Joan McCormack. She was immediately adopted by Dean and Helen McCormack and raised in Loveland, Colorado.

She met and married the love of her life, Larry Rice, in Dayton, Ohio. Their wedding on Valentine’s Day was a memorable affair held at a friend’s home in the middle of a snowstorm. Together, they cultivated a loving family raising daughters, Katrina and Samantha, and grandson, Aaron, and created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Pam dedicated over 20 years to the U.S. Post Office, retiring in 2016. She was a master of organization, a skill she applied to everything from football and band fundraisers to her shoe closet and even a junky garage. Her knack for making things functional and tidy was legendary.Pam was the newest member of a long-established Euchre Card Club and will be dearly missed by her card-playing ladies. The "Post Office Lunch Bunch" will also miss her company and vibrant spirit at their outings.

Pam had the travel bug, and with her organizing skills, she could be packed and ready for a trip at a moment's notice. She loved jaunts to Vegas with Teri, jumping on a cruise ship, or any vacation that didn't involve camping or the beach! She also held season tickets for the Dayton Dragons and rarely missed a home game, and often enjoyed shopping trips with Sheena.

Besides Larry and her daughters, the true lights of her life were her grandkids. She treasured every moment spent with them, and they brought her immense joy. Pam had a wonderful life, marked by kindness, resilience, and an unwavering spirit. She shaped the lives of everyone around her, and her friends adored her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends, especially her best buds: Sheena, Teri, Sandy, Deb, Shelly, Joanne, and Barb.

Pam is survived by her loving husband, Larry, and their daughters, Katrina Rose (Stephen Lyon) and Samantha Conley.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Aaron Rice (and his girlfriend, Gwen), June Conley, Brody Conley, Ryker LyonPam is also survived by a large and loving extended family, including her siblings: Stacey Raypole (Kimmie), George Hanley (Ellen), John Hanley, Mike Bryan (Rhonda), Diana Albert (Barry), Terry Bryan (Mary), Kathleen Hobbs (Brian), Corey Bryan (Christina).

She also leaves behind a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends. Pam was preceded in death by her parents, her birth parents, and her brother, Pat Bryan, whose memories she kept close to her heart.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to their friends and neighbors for their thoughtful words, actions, and incredible support.

A special thank you to the Neuro ICU and Vascular Nursing Teams at Miami Valley Hospital and the staff at Hospice of Dayton for their kindness and compassion.
