Ovedia Ruth Pope

Ovedia Ruth Pope, born September 13, 1930, peacefully passed away on April 27, 2026. She was a woman remembered for her kindness and loving spirit, qualities that deeply touched the lives of all who knew her.

Throughout her lifetime, Ovedia demonstrated a heartfelt commitment to family and community. She retired from Delco Moraine, where she dedicated many years of her life to her work with diligence and care. Beyond her professional life, Ovedia found great joy in nurturing her passions, particularly her love for working with flowers and antiques. These interests reflected not only her aesthetic sensibility but also her patience and attention to detail.

Ovedia was a cherished member of the Dayton Baptist Temple, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life, inspiring those around her with her devotion and gentle spirit. She took great pleasure in spending time with her nieces and nephews, including Marilyn Marie, Melinda Brown, Malissa Shelton, Greg Rudder, Jenice Hicks, and Sheila Cox, among many other family members and friends, cherishing these relationships deeply.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Pope, her parents, Homer and Nettie Atchley, and all of her brothers and sisters, Grace, Ed, HL, Paul, Jean, Fay , Mary and Carl, whose memories she held close to her heart throughout her life.

Ovedia Ruth Pope's legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and community. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those whose lives she enriched with her kindness and devotion. She leaves behind a profound example of compassion and grace that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
