It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nova Lynn Taulbee-Brown, a beacon of warmth and love, who departed this world on November 8, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on September 15, 1959, Nova spent her life touching the hearts of those around her with her incredible spirit and boundless affection.
Nova was a devoted wife, partner, and friend, who found her best friend in her husband, Robert B. Brown. Together, they shared a beautiful journey that spanned over three decades, filled with laughter, love, and the making of countless cherished memories. Her love for her cats was only second to Robert. Nova's love for her family was evident in everything she did, particularly in the way she cooked heartfelt meals for them, filling their home with delicious aromas and warmth that brought everyone together.
She took immense joy in her role as a stepmother to Stephanie Brown (Stephen Rickman Jr.), Stacey Brown, and Chad Brown, always ready to offer support and encouragement. Her memory will also be held by her grandchildren—McKenzie Rickman, Madison Rickman, Stephen Rickman III, Joel Brown, and Ivy Brown and her great-grandson, Jah'Zelle Rickman.
Nova's nurturing spirit also extended beyond her own family. She leaves behind her siblings Bill Taulbee (Cathy), Randy Taulbee (Carolyn), and Loretta Krause (Greg), each of whom carries a piece of her light within them. Her close relationships with her special friend Kristen and several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends further exemplify her loving nature and the community she built around herself.
Though Nova has now joined her beloved parents, Vernon and Gertrude Taulbee, and her siblings Ronnie Taulbee, Kathy Collinsworth, and Tina Miller, who welcomed her with open arms, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Nova Lynn Taulbee-Brown was a treasure who brought joy, love, and kindness to the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed. Her zest for life, stemming from card parties and movie nights, will remain a testament to the vibrant spirit she embodied.
As we remember Nova, let us celebrate her enduring legacy of love and compassion, knowing that her influence will continue to shape our lives and bring us together in fond remembrance. Rest in peace, dear Nova, your love will forever be with us.
A visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, with her funeral service starting at 1:00pm. Following the service, Nova will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
