Ninas Doris Ann Livesay, affectionately known as "Dottie," passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in Beavercreek, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 9, 1935, in Jonesville, Virginia, Dottie lived a remarkable life characterized by her unwavering strength, deep faith, and genuine kindness.
She took immense pride in her career as a stay-at-home mom, a role she mastered with fierce tenacity and unparalleled devotion. Dottie nurtured her family with love, teaching them the importance of faith as a member of Brantwood Baptist Church, where she also served as a Sunday School teacher and contributed to the AWANAS program. Her passion for her family and her relentless spirit were among her proudest accomplishments, and these qualities remain deeply engrained in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Dottie attended school in her hometown of Jonesville, where her feisty personality shone brightly. She could effortlessly strike up a conversation with anyone, showcasing her candid nature and making friends wherever she went. A devoted mother and grandmother, she cherished each moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Her legacy is carried on by her beloved children, Patti (Steve) Barnes and Tim (Becky) Livesay, and her adoring grandchildren, Brittany (Josh) Canfield, Nathan (Samantha) Barnes, Dalton Livesay, Hope (Adam) Strunk, and Nick Livesay, along with her treasured great-grandchildren: McKinley, Kason, Annie, Bella, Will, Leo, and Mia.
Dottie's interests were as diverse as her talents. She found solace in sewing, cooking, and gardening, often expressing herself as an artist through drawing and sketching. Her love of games, especially scrabble and UNO, brought laughter and joy to many family gatherings, where her competitive spirit often sparked lively competition among family members.
She is also survived by her sibling, sister Pat (Bill) Greer, and brothers Dood Poteet and Denver (Sue) Poteet, who will forever cherish the memories created with their beloved sister.
Dottie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Don Livesay, and her caring parents, Arthur and Beulah Poteet. She was also reunited in spirit with her siblings, Ruth Blackburn and Eva Garrett, as well as her brothers-in-law George Blackburn and Lawrence Garrett and sister-in-law Ferrell Poteet, who all played a significant role in shaping the family that she held so dear.
A visitation to celebrate Ninas Doris Ann Livesay’s life will be held on January 22, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio, from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 1:00 PM, allowing family and friends the opportunity to honor Dottie’s life, share their treasured memories, and reflect on the incredible impact she had on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Dottie leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to be a part of her life.
